The skin patch test allows us to determine the settings we must use for the initial laser treatment. It is fairly painless and we perform testing in a low-visibility area with the same skin type as the area you intend to treat. We then assess the efficacy and reaction of the treatment.
For a laser treatment to be effective, the hair pigment must be darker than the surrounding skin pigment. If this is not the case, the treatment will not work and may lead to uneccessary complications.
Early in the evolution of Laser Hair Removal, patients with Fitzpatrick skin types V and VI were not good candidates, and even patients with skin types III and IV were high risk.
Today, however, newer technologies allow LCI Lasercom to use different lasers and treat all skin types
